Fast-moving consumer goods major Dabur India is set to enter the branded spices and seasoning category. It has signed an agreement to acquire 51 per cent in Badshah Masala for a cash consideration of Rs 587.52 crore. The acquisition, the company says, is in line with its strategic intent to expand its food biz to Rs 500 crore in three years.
Dabur India reported a steady performance in Q1 FY27 with 10.6 per cent year-on-year revenue growth, a 12-quarter high, driven by broad-based gains across India and international businesses. However, volume growth, particularly in beverages due to unseasonal rains, and concerns over monsoon impact on rural demand remain key challenges.
'Vivek Vaswani came over to discuss Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman which he was producing with Aziz Mirza as the director.' 'When I asked who was playing the lead, Raju, he said it was an actor called Shah Rukh Khan. "He looks just like Aamir Khan," Vivek added.' 'It was a shock when I met Shah Rukh on the first day of the shoot.' 'He was thin and tanned, with a fat nose and thick lips.'
Dabur's performance in the July-September quarter of the current financial year (Q2FY25) was weak but in line with consensus. Indian revenue declined 7.6 per cent, while international business grew 13 per cent Y-o-Y in constant currency (CC) terms.
